The Cottages at Cathedral Square is a 32-unit low-income elderly development co-sponsored by Metropolitan Housing Development Corporation and the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation. Located near an historic Roman Catholic basilica in the center of Belleville, Illinois, this project features a landscaped central garden anchored by a gazebo where residents can sit and socialize. Each two-story cottage has its own individual front-door entrance. Twenty-four units are subsidized and 8 units are non-subsidized.
